Lesson 16 PPL

30 Apr 2005

In this lesson, I was in a different type of aircraft, a Cessna 150 rather than a 152. Not much difference, but some things were in different places, and the airspeed indicator also reads in MPH rather than knots. I just went up to practise doing circuits again because, again, the weather wasn’t good enough for anything else.

We took off from 31 despite it having a slight tailwind, it was very strange because it means that while the airspeed indicator is reading say 60 Kts you are actually doing 70-80 Kts so everything was a bit faster. The circuits didn’t go very well to start with because I kept forgetting where things were and then while trying to find them I forgot to do checks and radio calls too, which wasn’t great, but the last circuit went perfectly and the landing was so smooth I didn’t feel much of a bump when the wheels touched so it was sort of alright.
