2nd Solo Nav Ex PPL
16 Aug 2005My second solo navigation flight, I was given the route by my instructor again which was down to Looe, up to Bude and then back to Plymouth, but I did all the planning myself. I took off after refueling the plane, departed the circuit straight out from runway 31 past the Tamar bridges and then headed down towards Looe at 2000ft.
I reached Looe no problem because it does stand out a bit! And then climbed to 2500’ as I flew up to Bude. I got up there on perfectly on time. As I was coming up towards it, I turned out over the sea slightly and flew up the coast towards Bude before turning overhead, heading straight back towards Plymouth past Launceston. I joined left base for 13 and landed.
I took a camera with me on this flight too because I really wanted a wanted a picture of Looe island from the air, purely because that was the area that I went to on my introductory lesson. So I took a few quick snaps of Looe and a couple of other photos along the way, only when it was safe to do (and each one was just quickly picking up the camera and shooting, only taking a second or so at most - it was secondary to flying at all times).
