Solo Nav Ex PPL
25 Oct 2005I took off and followed the south east coast down to start point, flying over burgh island again where there were lots of people flying their kites. Once I reached start point I flew out over the sea a little bit and flew north alongside Torcross and Slapton sands, which looked really good because the sun was shining on the water but I don’t have any photos from this flight as I forgot to take the camera with me.
When I came back to land the approach was really good but I think the wind dropped as I was flaring because it suddenly dropped onto the runway hit quite hard and bounced about 3 times, it was the first time I had bounced a plane and it wasn’t very nice, but it wasn’t ‘end of the world’ because the landing gear is designed to take these kinds of landings, and was absolutely fine - it probably felt worse to me than it actually was.
