Lesson 43 PPL

05 Apr 2006

I went up with my instructor for the last time he’s going away for a while and I will probably have my licence before he comes back again. We departed runway 13 and turned out over my house, flew down past the Tamar bridge at 3000ft towards Liskeard, then I flew the rest of the route as diversions.

This meant I had to work out the headings, distances, the amount of drift, and an ETA for the next point on the fly, we went up to Holsworthy from Liskeard and then headed back down to Plymouth again, I got the headings spot on and the ETA’s were only about a minute out. The approach back into Plymouth wasn’t my best, but the landing was still smooth as always, and it was a really good flight.
