Missing out on EasyJet's MPL

You may be able to guess where this post is going, given the title. I’d held off a little longer putting the application in, as I thought I still had plenty of time, I also wanted to make sure I had a solid financial plan to cover the costs, and wanted to chat with my parents about it all before committing to it.

I finally felt like I had everything in place just before christmas, and while staying with my parents, I decided today to go ahead and put it in. Opened the CAE website, and onto the generation EasyJet page only to find the “apply now” button, had turned to a “join waitlist” button - this felt like a bit of a gut punch, as I’d missed my opportunity to apply, and it had been the only ‘safe’ route open to me, as it’d mean I could leave my current job, with another one in an airline already lined up.

It’s really put a bit of a dampener on Christmas as I am so annoyed at myself for holding off for so long instead of just going for it, and now missing my chance, not knowing if or when it might re-open. Lesson learned, the hard way!

So it’s somewhat back to the drawing board now, looking into other routes and options, the only glimmer of hope, is that the website also says “updates coming in spring 26”. So I can only assume a new contract is in the works, just isn’t finalised yet.
