Lesson 22 PPL
06 Jul 2005A Very windy day! I went up to do a navigation route because it’s been ages since I’ve done one, (& again was a chance for my new instructor to see how I flew). We went out to Ivybridge, up to Mortonhampstead, continued up to great Torrington, then down to Davidstow moor and finally back to Plymouth.
Everything went perfectly, all the headings and ground speeds I predicted were exactly right and we arrived at each destination within 1-2mins of the estimated time, it was a perfect flight, the best navigation exercise I’ve ever done, and I managed to finished it all off with a very smooth landing on runway 31, didn’t feel or hear the wheels touch - really felt like everything had come together in this flight and I was starting to feel very confident flying and navigating now.
(my instructor said it was the best nav ex he’d ever been on as well!!)
