Lesson 23 PPL

07 Jul 2005

Still quite windy for this lesson and the lesson was put back a bit because the plane had had a problem with its carb heat, and had to fly up to Exeter in the morning to get it fixed.

When I did get to go flying, we went down to the southeast and was flying around near burgh island doing practised forced landings into fields, I started off forgetting most of what you needed to do, but it came back, and by the end I think I was doing them ok. We then joined straight in for runway 31 and my instructor showed me how to use the ILS to guide us down, which was fascinating to see just how accurate it was.
