4th solo PPL
21 Jul 2005Initially went up with my instructor and did four glide approach touch and go landings, started off not doing these very well (not sure why!) but by the end I was getting them almost perfect, so he decided I was ok to go and do it on my own so I was able to do
Took off flew the circuit as normal but when on base I pulled the power right back and did a glide approach onto the runway like I had been with my instructor, it seemed to go ok and the landing was quite good so I went round again and did exactly the same again, very smooth landing and then taxied back in, my instructor was in the tower watching the approaches and landings and he seemed happy so he has now signed me off for it so I should never have to do it again! (now it’s only flapless approaches to get signed off before I can go navigating solo!)
