Lesson 2 PPL
26 Apr 2004This lesson built on the last one, and was all about flying straight and level at different speeds, power settings, and taxing. I started the engine under the guidance of my instructor, then taxied the plane out to runway 13 turned round and then held the controls for the takeoff (which the instructor did).
We flew over towards Burgh Island and then went up and down between there and Ivybridge doing exercises at about 2000ft.
After that I flew the plane round the traffic pattern at 1000ft. Then flew it in on the approach to runway 13. My instructor did not do anything other than talk me through the approach and did not even touch the controls until we were about 20-30ft above the runway. All he did was pull back a little and bring the plane to a stop on the runway, so I almost landed it on my 2nd lesson!
